Title: Amateur Radio Astronomy - Fun with Radio Waves

Synopsis: This talk gives an introductory overview of radio astronomy followed by discussion of observation projects accessible to the amateur. Topics include, but are not limited to, measuring the Doppler shift of the hydrogen line to make a galactic rotation curve, using distant terrestrial radio transmitter signals to perform meteor detection, and using radio spectrographs to observe and characterize Solar and Jovian burst emission.
