7:45 - Speaker
Leave your inner geek home for this lecture. Join the speaker for a trip back to a special time and place in a quest to understand the origins of the universe through the Winter Stories and teachings of the Navajo Indians. The emphasis of the talk will be on Navajo cosmology. Select stories and demonstrations will be used to show the relationship between their traditional view of the universe, the seasons of the year, and the cycle of life. The speaker has teamed up with James Albury, Planetarium Coordinator to create models that demonstrate some of the concepts as if you were in Dine’ Bikeyah (Navajo Land). Come enjoy an alternative view of the universe that is truly a native American original.
